History

Established in 1968, Whitehead has 50 years of tried and true results to back the company’s reputation as a leader in the industry. Although formally founded later in the 20th century, the roots of the Whitehead organization date back to 1929, when Bob Whitehead began a storied career with Georgia Power Company, where he remained for more than three decades. Though Bob did not have direct ties to the Whitehead company, his experience in the electrical industry influenced his son, Pat Whitehead.

On July 1, 1968, Whitehead & Associates was born when Pat started the business with one principal and one employee in Atlanta. Business boomed, and the company flourished as a result. In 1991, his son Scott Whitehead came on board to open a branch, located in Birmingham, Alabama. Following a successful launch, he joined Pat in Atlanta in 1994 and became President in 2000.

Today, Whitehead continues a long-standing tradition of excellence and ethical business with its headquarters office in Atlanta, and branch offices in Nashville, Birmingham, and Orlando.
